Prescott Day 1: First Impressions

After battling the North Phoenix traffic, in something like a blink of an eye, we arrived in Prescott. Our rental home was easy to find—a cute cottage tucked into a hillside. This place is amazing! It is huge, I keep saying we should have brought friends to fill the extra bedrooms, and has all the amenities. Of course, Mike turned on the TV within 5 minutes of walking in the door. We have Wi-Fi and a decent movie collection to choose from. The house itself is older but immaculate. Everything is clean and perfectly cared for. I would love to rent this place for a week and just hang out.

Once we got the car unpacked, we decided to check out some of the local scenery so headed over the Watson Lake Park and trail for a hike. We arrived at about 4:30 p.m. the absolute perfect time of day. Mike raved about the quality of the light for his photographs. Believe me, we took a bunch. It was a little windy but otherwise the weather was perfect.

For dinner, we decided to try out the BBQ at our digs so we picked up hamburger supplies at a local grocery store. One weird thing about Prescott, there is a ton of stores (Best Buy, Cost Plus, you name it) littered along Highway 69 but not a single grocery store. We had to drive quite a ways to find one. Dinner was good though the meat was a bit undercooked. Mike had trouble adjusting to someone else’s grill. The microwave took care of that for us. We are not sure what tomorrow holds….
