I have been so excited about this project and am not really sure why. I love the idea of getting away though am not a big fan of random road trips. My parents have a strong sense of wanderlust, which they passed to my brothers, but not me. I definitely am not a fan of packing up the car on a whim and driving for hours. In fact as a kid, I hated our family road trips—long hours in a stuffy car with nothing to do but watch the scenery. But I am excited about riding in the car with my husband for long hours with nothing to do but to watch the scenery, hmm.

Then it hit me, the whole time we are in the car Mike insists on driving. And if he is driving then he can’t be on his laptop or reading his email on his phone. That time in the car is completely uninterrupted bonding time. As a tech savvy couple, it is hard to put down the devices and just spend time together. Having that time excites me most about these trips. Who knows, maybe I’ll just toss his Blackberry out the window….
