Welcome to our Photo Travel Journal. We started this project to fuel Mike’s photography career. Mike has been taking photos for years but only recently started showing in Art on Boston Gallery in Chandler. To keep his display fresh, the owners want new photographs every few months. Well, when he started, we had a stockpile of great stuff but after a few months it became clear that the well had run dry.

I (Jasmine) am a graphic designer who grew up in a small town. I love the opportunities of living in the city but sometimes feel suffocated but the sheer size of Phoenix. For months now, I have be dying to get away from the city and clear my head.

Out of those two needs, this blog was born. We plan visit a new location approximately once a month for a year to photograph and write about our experiences. Our plan is to mostly take day trips within a few hours of our home. But we do have some further destinations in mind. On each trip, Mike’s job is to take photographs for gallery and his portfolio. My job is to be the photographer assistant: holding the light and shooting video of the location.

This journal is more than a photography how-to though we will include that too. It is a travel guide, photography portfolio, and vacation video all in one. Enjoy!
